Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Zetaris Cloud, Air and Enterprise?

Zetaris Cloud deploys into your own cloud account — you own the cluster, the keys and the bill. It's free forever on a single node up to 12 vCPUs, running the core Spark and Presto engines. Air is also free forever, customer-managed across cloud or on-premise, with LDAP authorisation, SSO and unlimited users. Enterprise is the full AI Data Harness and Open Agentic Lakehouse: customer-managed on AWS, Azure or Equinix Marketplace, with sovereign data storage, the MCP Toolkit, pre-built industry models, Unity Catalog and a 24/7 SLA.

Which Zetaris edition is right for me?

Choose Cloud if you want a real cluster in your VPC in about 20 minutes with no sales call and no procurement. Choose Air if you want the full platform on infrastructure you already run, at no cost, for unlimited users, self-managed. Choose Enterprise if you need a 24/7 SLA, sovereign data storage, automated data classification or the AI Search, Assistant and Agent layer.

Does my data leave my environment?

No. Every edition runs on infrastructure you control — your cloud account, your data centre, or your marketplace deployment. Zetaris queries data where it already lives rather than copying it into a Zetaris-hosted service.

What does Zetaris Cloud actually cost?

Nothing from Zetaris. You pay your cloud provider for the compute you run. Zetaris charges nothing until you upgrade.

Can I run Zetaris on-premise?

Yes. Air and Enterprise both support on-premise, hybrid and any major cloud. Zetaris Cloud is the single-node option that deploys into your own cloud account.

Can I upgrade between Zetaris editions?

Yes. Start on Cloud or Air and move up when you need multi-node scale, a 24/7 SLA, sovereign storage or the full governance and AI feature set. Your connections and models carry across.

Is the Zetaris Open Agentic Lakehouse open-source?

It's built on open standards — Apache Iceberg, Apache Spark, Trino and Presto. The platform itself is commercial software. Zetaris maintains Lightning Catalog as an open-source metadata and governance catalog.

Does Zetaris work with my existing data infrastructure?

Yes. Zetaris is deployment-agnostic and runs alongside what you already have: Snowflake, Databricks (via the Unity Catalog bridge), AWS, Azure, GCP, on-premise warehouses and lakes. Query-in-place means no migration and no duplicate copies.
